Unlike the studio engineer, the live sound engineer (or "FOH engineer," for Front of House) works in real time, often in front of hundreds or thousands of people. It is a demanding profession, but extremely rewarding for those who love the energy of live performance.
Key skills
Mastery of digital consoles (Avid VENUE, DiGiCo, Yamaha). Management of the sound reinforcement system (line array, subwoofers). Reactivity: unlike in the studio, there are no retakes possible live. Effective communication with the artists and the technical team.

The training
Although the core of Musitechnic's program focuses on the studio, the fundamentals learned in signal management, acoustics, and sound reinforcement systems are directly transferable to the live world. Several graduates pivot to live sound after a few years in the studio.
